Oh so very soon I am going to make my first dish in my new dutch oven. OF COURSE, I am going to make Julia Child's Boeuf Bourguignon. She was the reason, after all, that I became obsessed with getting a dutch oven in the first place. It seems only right that this be my first endeavor. I'm so excited.
I hope it's as delicious as I'm dreaming it will be!
For my birthday my fabulous, one-of-a-kind, wonderful mother bought me.....
My very own, state-of-the-art, adorable blue, practically perfect, dream-come-true LE CREUSET dutch oven.
"The classic, everyday cocotte is perfect for soups, stews, sauces and other one-pot favorites. Painstakingly sand-cast and finished by hand, timeless enameled cast-iron French oven distributes and retains heat beautifully. Safe for oven, stovetop, refrigerator and dishwasher. Made in France since 1925."
When the box came from Sur la Table I could hardly contain myself. I was giddy like a school child at recess. An absolutely terrific surprise.

One time I stumbled upon the shop in Soho and I nearly keeled over with glee.
I was just looking through my pics and I realized I never blogged about Cape Cod!! My goodness, well, it's ABOUT TIME. Wouldn't ya say? It is the first day of fall after all. Bummer. I miss summer.
This year's trip (4th annual) started out pretty rough. Cold. Windy. Rainy. Yick.
Still though, we found ways to entertain ourselves like eating LOTS of delicious meals cooked by my mom and Grammy, doing a little window shopping on Main Street, and watching the Red Sox kick Toronto AND Seattle's be-hinds. :)
Also, I devoured The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
This book was 110% nuts.
And, it was amazing.
You should probably read it. Like, now.
Just read it. READ IT.
Aaaaanyways. Where was I? Oh yes, CAPE COD. Glorious, CC.
Cape, I love you.
After a few days of rain, the skies finally cleared and the sun shone bright... OH so bright! We got a chance to finish off the week doing what we love best, beachin' it!
Here's some pics from this year's vacation:
The lovely house!
Hanging out on the porch swing...
Dinner at the Wild Goose Tavern
Seals!!! (through binocular lenses!)
Did some shopping at my favorite store...
It has lots of seashells and fabulous sea inspired jewelry.
And had some good old fashioned fun at lighthouse beach!! DREAM.
Go on and take a look at my classroom blog... it's my way of communicating with the parents about what we're up to in first grade. I've gotten great feedback from the families so far. Let me know what you think! :)
I am writing this post from my new phone! it's a Droid Incredible and I just LOVE it. So many features! So many apps! Email! Twitter! Facebook! DREAM!! I've taken a big step in the "socially connected" world. A smart phone. Imagine that! Hooray, hooray, HOORAY.
I downloaded Blogger app so I can blog from my phone when I feel like it. Preeeeeeetty sweet!

So in my search for a good magazine awhile back, my friend Eliza informed me of an online magazine called Lonny. Although I was looking for actual pages to flip (i.e. paper magazine), the online paper-less magazine Lonny wins for spectacular ideas, eye-pleasing layout, and all around fabulous design. It's so wonderful, every issue is so bright and EXACTLY my style. Or at least, what my style inspires to be. Plus, it's GREEN!
Thank you Eliza for letting me know about this!
Looking through this mag is a DREAM if I ever had one. Simply divine.
I am 170% addicted to this publication.
If that's even possible.
And I think it might be.
The August/September Issue is 197 pages of pure bliss.
Welcome to my blog! Here's a place for me to keep in touch... to let you know what I am up to and share with you some of my favorite things. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it. Be well and come back often!
